Kevin Salazar is a Mexican American multidisciplinary artist based in North Texas. Working across drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and writing. He examines memory, absence, place, and the alternate possibilities that gather around lived experiences. Raised within an immigrant family and between cultural worlds, Salazar developed art as both refuge and a method of inquiry. Through monochrome mark-making, layered values, repeated text, constructed spaces, and photographic observation, he gives physical form to experiences that resist ordinary language. His works often function as evidence of what time, distance, and memory transform. Salazar is a student earning his Bachelor of Arts at the University of North Texas. He received a National Golden Key in Portraiture from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2016 and has earned both gold and silver medals in the yearly VASE and Junior VASE regional competitions. His photography was selected for the 2026 Capturing Dallas exhibition as well as the 2025 Amateur Hour exhibition. Across changing media, his practice remains driven by the desire to preserve beauty without preventing it from changing.
